- Magma Cannon was obtainable trough the Frostival event since 29 Nov 2017 and was officially released in Update 56 - Happy new year, Masters! (3 Jan, 2017)
- In Update 1.6 (16 Oct, 2019) Magma Cannon's health was increased from 300 to 350.
- In Update 1.15 (30 Jul, 2020) Magma Cannon's faction was changed from Empyrean to Voidborne
- In Update 1.33 - Invasion (3 March 2022), the health of Magma Cannon was increased from 350 to 400.
- In Update 2.0 - Mountain Song (December 12, 2023), Magma Cannon received the following changes:
- Health increased from 400 to 450
- Rarity changed from Rare to Common
- In Update 2.7 - Shifting Sands (27 August 2024), Magma Cannon's attack rate was buffed from 1.2 to 1.1 seconds.
- In Update 2.10 - Hammer Of The Dawn (November 30, 2024), Magma Cannon's attack rate was nerfed from 1.1 to 1.2 seconds.
